چکیده
To study the deformation and failure behavior of open-graded friction course (OGFC) before cracking at low temperatures, a four-point bending test trabecula was conducted, process monitored by digital speckle method (DSM). The distribution law strain field trabecular specimens analyzed. horizontal gradually changed from uniform to concentration area with loading. crack initiation time, strain, period were obtained curve. combination stress reconstruction DSM makes measurement OGFC more authentic.

Quantum friction of micromechanical resonators at low temperatures.
Dissipation of micro- and nanoscale mechanical structures is dominated by quantum-mechanical tunneling of two-level defects intrinsically present in the system. We find that at high frequencies-usually, for smaller, micron-scale structures-a novel mechanism of phonon pumping of two-level defects gives rise to weakly temperature-dependent internal friction, Q-1, concomitant to the effects observ...
متن کاملThe Ballistic Behavior of High Strength, Low Alloy-100 Steel at Sub-zero Temperatures
The ballistic response of the high strength, low alloy (HSLA-100) steel at ambient and temperatures of -400°C, -800°C and -1960°C is investigated in this work. Lambert-jonas equation is used to fit the experimental results into a curve. The effect of quenching on ballistic behavior of HSLA-100 is also studied. The experiments are conducted on 3mm thick rectangular specimens impacted by blunt ti...
متن کاملHigh-Pressure Behavior of Hydrogen and Deuterium at Low Temperatures.
In situ high-pressure low-temperature high-quality Raman data for hydrogen and deuterium demonstrate the presence of a novel phase, phase II^{'}, unique to deuterium and distinct from the known phase II. Phase II^{'} of D_{2} is not observed in hydrogen, making it the only phase that does not exist in both isotopes and occupies a significant part of P-T space from ∼25 to 110 GPa and below 125 K...
متن کاملDiamond formation by reduction of carbon dioxide at low temperatures.
This Communication reports a low-temperature diamond synthesis technique, in which diamonds (10-250 mum) can form at a temperature as low as 440 degrees C by reduction of dense CO2 with metallic Na. The X-ray diffraction pattern of a powder sample shows three reflection peaks, indexed with 111, 220, and 311, corresponding unambiguously to cubic diamond. The Raman spectrum of the product exhibit...
متن کاملTHE DEFORMATION BEHAVIOR OF AZ31 MAGNESIUM ALLOY AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES
AZ31 magnesium alloy is considered as a promising alloy in various applications and industries. Furthermore, to design a proper hot working process (rolling, forging and extrusion), the assessment of hot working behaviour of the alloy is necessary. Accordingly, the hot deformation behaviour of AZ31 alloy was studied through hot compression testing method This was carried out in a wide range of ...
